About Dr Van Pelt
After completing my undergraduate work at Tufts University, I received my doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology (now the William James College) in Boston, Massachusetts. I completed pre-doctoral internships in pediatric oncology, college counseling and family therapy, a doctoral internship at New York University's Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine and post-doctoral work at Mount Sinai Medical Center, Department of Communication Disorders in New York City. I then moved to Charleston where I worked at the College of Charleston and MUSC's Institute of Psychiatry prior to opening my private practice in 2001.
As the mother of two I also have a particular interest in the joys and challenges of parenting. I enjoy working with parents to creatively address parenting concerns.
When I am not in the office, I love spending time with my family and enjoying all our beautiful Low Country has to offer.
